Starting With a Strategy
Rue La La needed a partner to envision and design an experience to allow users to shop in an entirely new way with mobile and to accelerate revenue growth. They wanted to work with a strategic local Boston team to revamp their entire suite of apps, starting with Android. What’s more, the work had to be done on an aggressive two-month timeline, just in time for back-to-school shopping season. The team also set out to dramatically improve app performance and reliability, including the build of a new backend CMS complete with a complex commerce engine. We succeeded, and shoppers rejoiced.
coupling regular milestones and ongoing app deliveries with periodic strategic meetings, we were able to satiate short-term needs and identify and accomplish long-term objectives. With this structure, the team addressed shifting business priorities, making ongoing, impactful updates, and overhauls. In today’s fast-moving digital economy, it is crucial for companies to think of their website, portal or mobile app like a product that is forever beta. Rue La La adopted this mindset, engaging Rightpoint for ongoing consultation on mobile marketplace trends, App Store insights, user analytics, and continued improvements.
After establishing Rue La La as a serious mobile player, Rightpoint ensured they stayed ahead of the technical and design curve on all platforms through ongoing consultation on mobile marketplace trends, App Store insights, user analytics, and continued improvement. Early integration of Google Wallet earned Rue La La major time in the spotlight as a Google IO featured partner. And Apple featured the iPhone and iPad apps on two separate occasions, supercharging downloads and business growth.
Rightpoint also designed and implemented the “sidecart” for Rue La La iPad. This innovative cart always lived just off screen and could be navigated to quickly and easily by either swiping or tapping the shopping bag icon. We made the checkout process as easy as “Add to Bag” and “Place Order.”
“Rightpoint was an equal partner as we built our mobile business into one of the most envied success stories in the eCommerce space, with mobile accounting for 40% of our sales and 50% of our traffic.”
